Declining Church Attendance
and Membership

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, there is a recurring theme of declining church attendance. That’s why the Curtis Foundation invites you to join us for a year-long campaign seeking answers to this challenge. There are more than 400,000 people in the Triangle without a church home.

Media Support for the Campaign

The “Grow My Church Family Initiative” will be powered by media partners including 11 Triangle Radio Stations: 94.7 QDR, 96.1 BBB, KIX 102, WPTF 680, The New Pulse FM, Rock 92.9, Oldies 850, Spanish-language La Ley 101.1, FOXY 107.1/104.3, The Light 103.9, and K97.5. Our TV partner will be CBS 17. These stations will be airing a series of church attendance and membership-themed ads throughout the year.

Other Support Material

For participating churches, the Curtis Foundation will provide an online library of supporting creative materials (posters, flyers, bulletin inserts, and social media images) that you may download and customize. A Two-Part Campaign

We plan to start our campaign with a special Member-Guest Month. Members of your church will be encouraged to invite guests to join them in your worship service and to provide their contact information so that you may encourage follow-up visits.

Later in the campaign, we will launch a Member-Member Month. Here, members who are currently attending in-person worship will be encouraged to invite lapsed members to return to the pews and to re-engage in weekly church life.
